Huzhou's foreign trade hits new high
Huzhou's foreign trade has reached a new pinnacle in 2025, with the city's import and export value exceeding 170 billion yuan ($24.54 billion) for the first time.
According to Huzhou Customs, the total trade value in the city hit 171.44 billion yuan last year, marking a 3.0 percent increase from 2024. Exports rose to 156.29 billion yuan, up 2.1 percent, while imports surged 13.5 percent to 15.15 billion yuan.
At Huzhou Sany Loader in Huzhou, workers are busy maximizing production ahead of Spring Festival. The company has developed a new electric loader equipped with an integrated thermal management system that enhances reliability by 80 percent and reduces energy consumption by 30 percent.
This innovation has enabled Sany to penetrate markets in Thailand, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Turkiye, Spain, and Brazil. Last year, the company saw its export value increase by 54.9 percent to 1.47 billion yuan.
Similarly, Zhejiang Taihu Yuanda New Materials in Huzhou has focused on developing eco-friendly materials for cables, achieving over 30 percent year-on-year growth in exports in 2025.
Huzhou Customs reported that high-tech product exports grew by 6.1 percent to 12.73 billion yuan last year.
To support foreign trade, local authorities are implementing a series of initiatives to enhance export quality and efficiency. These efforts include optimizing customs procedures and providing targeted services to help local enterprises expand their international footprint and competitiveness.
