Over 45 years, Huayuan village in Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, has transformed from a poor settlement into a model of common prosperity. In 2025, the village's revenue reached 82.5 billion yuan ($12.19 billion), with an annual per capita income of 185,000 yuan.

Mahdi Soltani, a German PhD graduate, joined Huayuan Group's Jinbo Technology on May 6. "Huayuan may be a village in China, but globally, it's a city," Mahdi remarked, highlighting the village's remarkable growth. He chose the company for its values, emphasizing community development alongside profit — a philosophy underpinning the village's enduring success.

Huayuan's prosperity is not just material but also reflects refined governance. The "Smart Huayuan" project, initiated in 2020 with Huawei, exemplifies this. It includes the "Zheli Huayuan" app and innovative "Huayuan Codes" for households, enhancing service efficiency and community engagement.

In 2025, the village leadership transitioned to younger generations. Shao Hongxuan, born in the 2000s and the current Party secretary, has emphasized the need for global competition to drive future growth. Under his leadership, Huayuan Group's subsidiaries have ventured to overseas expos, securing significant orders.

As the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) unfolds, youth are steering the village toward a 100 billion yuan revenue goal, with a focus on high-tech and emerging industries. Huayuan's 65,000 residents continue to build its legacy through innovation and hard work.
