Ningbo Botanical Garden's water forest has entered its peak viewing season, attracting visitors eager to admire the autumn foliage at its finest.

The water forest, a special section of the garden covering about 4.9 hectares, features water-tolerant trees such as dawn redwood, bald cypress, and metasequoia. Over 120 additional wetland-adapted woody and herbaceous species suited to Ningbo's climate have also been introduced, creating a diverse and resilient ecosystem.

In recent weeks, the leaves on many trees have turned red, offering vivid seasonal colors visible from both the ground and the air. Visitors explore the forest by boat, gliding through narrow water channels and experiencing the landscape up close. Reflections on the water add to the scene's visual appeal.

Developed as one of the garden's key specialty areas, the water forest demonstrates how wetland-adapted species can thrive locally. Other trees, including Chinese cedar and Chinese swamp cypress, have been introduced to enhance both ecological diversity and scenic interest.
