Wuzhen town in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, came alive with youthful energy on Nov 3 for the departure ceremony of volunteers for the 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, which will be held Nov 6 to 9.

This year's team of 909 volunteers represents 21 universities across Zhejiang, making it the largest group in the past five years, with about 62 percent of participants born after 2005. They will provide translation, reception, and guidance services for guests from home and abroad during the summit.

Since arriving in Wuzhen on Nov 1, the volunteers have undergone intensive training, walking nearly 30,000 steps daily around the Xizha scenic area to memorize every street and landmark.

Che Ruchen from Jiaxing Nanhu University joined the summit's volunteer team for the second consecutive year. She recalled being nervous during her first experience but now feels more confident, even incorporating local Jiaxing stories into engaging trivia for international guests.

The volunteers' uniforms, designed by Professor Cui Rongrong from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, feature blue tones with patterns inspired by water-town architecture and digital motifs. The designs blend elements of Chinese tradition with modern digital aesthetics, symbolizing the harmony between culture and technology at this year's conference.
