Huzhou sees thriving tourism during National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday

Huzhou in Zhejiang province showed a vibrant cultural tourism scene during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8. According to its cultural tourism big data center platform, as of 2 pm on Oct 8, the city welcomed 9.11 million visits during the period, an 8.1 percent increase over last year.
Huzhou launched 53 consumption promotion policies, 145 pro-consumption events, and 50 festive markets. Immersive experiences, such as those at the Taihu performing art town in Taihu Lake Longemont Paradise, proved particularly popular.
The town hosted over 1,000 performances daily, attracting 1.2 million visits and generating 120 million yuan ($16.84 million) in revenue, up 41 percent and 15 percent, respectively.
Nanxun Ancient Town also drew crowds with its meticulously designed tour routes and immersive performances. Its Red Star Theater offered 10 performances daily, blending traditional arts with modern trends. The town welcomed 2.04 million visits during the holiday, a 25.31 percent increase, and set a single-day record of over 300,000 visits.
Family tours were a major focus, with rural destinations offering unique activities integrating natural ecology, farming fun, and folk experiences. Xisaishan Holiday Resort received over 700,000 visits, and its giraffe manor was favored by many families with children.
