A food and cultural event featuring traditional island banquets opened in Dinghai Ancient City in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 23, bringing together local cuisine, folk performances, and technology-themed experiences.

The highlight of the opening day was the "Zhuangyuan Bridge Night" banquet event, where three family-style feasts — Zhuangyuan Banquet, Mianyu Banquet, and Yingzhou Banquet — were presented to visitors.

The Zhuangyuan Banquet featured locally sourced seafood and seasonal ingredients, with dishes designed around wishes for academic success and prosperity.

The Mianyu Banquet showcased the region's well-known Miichthys miiuy through dishes such as fish soup, steamed fish, and fish bone sauce.

The Yingzhou Banquet focused on traditional island snacks, including handmade fish balls prepared using old local recipes.

The event also invited food lovers from across the country, including tourists and online influencers, to sample local dishes free of charge.

Around the ancient city, snack streets and outdoor markets attracted large crowds throughout the evening. Visitors sampled seafood snacks and local desserts while enjoying cultural performances.

The event also featured "God of Wealth" parades, Zhoushan drum shows, robot performances, and an AI-powered marine culture art exhibition, blending traditional island culture with modern technology.
