A seafood-themed gift pack featuring Zhoushan's island products has drawn attention during a match between Zhoushan and Lishui in the "Wuyue Cup" Zhejiang City Football League.
The colorful package design was inspired by a fishermen's painting titled Lao Jin Jiao (Catching Golden Mackerel), created by members of the Super Luobei Women's Common Prosperity Workshop in Shengsi county. The artwork reflects local fishing culture and island residents' aspirations for a better life.
The workshop provided seafood snacks and cultural products for the event while also offering temporary jobs to residents.
Wang Yuan, head of the workshop, said preparations for the soccer-themed orders began in mid-March. More than 40 temporary workers, mainly local women, joined the production process, earning an average of more than 500 yuan (about $73) per day.
Founded in April 2025, the workshop focuses on marine-themed handicrafts and cultural products. Female employees account for about 80 percent of its workforce.
Shengsi county has promoted similar workshops since 2022 through a model combining village collectives, local enterprises, and fishing households. Authorities have encouraged each village to develop signature products rooted in local industries and island culture.
So far, Shengsi has established 72 island-themed common prosperity workshops, creating jobs for more than 3,600 people and raising participants' average monthly income by around 3,000 yuan.
