The 6th China Shaoxing International Friendship Cities Conference kicked off on May 28 and will conclude on May 30, gathering more than 270 guests, including representatives from 28 international friendship cities across 21 countries and regions.

Shi Huifang, Party secretary of Shaoxing, delivered a welcome speech, expressing gratitude for the longstanding support for Shaoxing's development and its sister-city partnerships. He emphasized that the city will continue to deepen international exchanges, foster pragmatic cooperation, and seek mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.

A warm-up activity was held on May 28, which introduced two innovative feature zones: the Shaoxing Cultural Experience Area and the International Sister Cities Micro-Exhibition Area, combining display, interaction, and networking. The site also featured performances by the Shangyu Smart Robotics humanoid robots and live-streamed promotions of specialty products.

Held every two years, the conference serves as a key platform for Shaoxing's international exchanges and cooperation. During this session, Shaoxing will establish new friendly relations with two cities — Asti of Italy and Kairouan of Tunisia. As of now, Shaoxing has built friendly ties with 59 cities in 29 countries.
