Pakistanis establish roots and careers in Keqiao
Shaoxing's Keqiao district, known as the International Textile Capital, is home to over 500 permanent residents from Pakistan, with more than 20,000 short-term business visitors each year. Against the backdrop of deeper China-Pakistan cooperation, professionals in Keqiao from Pakistan are now engaged in various sectors, including trade, services, mediation, and research.
Businessman Fida Muhammad has been engaged in the textile foreign trade in Keqiao for nearly 30 years. Fluent in Chinese, he specializes in velvet fabric exports and has witnessed the evolution of the local industry.

"Second-generation textile entrepreneur" Humayun has inherited his family's textile business while also opening a Pakistani restaurant. He incorporates authentic local ingredients and chefs while adapting dishes, fostering cultural exchange through cuisine.

Arbab Muhammad Tayyab, a former surgeon, now works as an international mediator, resolving disputes and trade-related issues faced by foreigners in China. Since 2018, nine foreign mediators in Keqiao have settled over 210 international disputes.

Researcher Azim Uddin operates a laboratory in Keqiao, focusing on composite materials and 3D printing technology, advancing projects such as medical materials and textile filter membranes. He also serves as a talent scout, facilitating the innovation and entrepreneurship of high-level overseas professionals. The local international talent hub has already attracted over 80 foreign experts to settle and develop their careers.
