During this year's Spring Festival holiday, Shaoxing received a total of 4.18 million tourist visits, marking a 25.2 percent year-on-year increase. Those staying overnight reached 2.60 million, up 19 percent from the previous year.

The city integrated its rich cultural resources — including historical figures, yellow rice wine culture, and intangible cultural heritage — to launch over 200 large-scale events. From tech-inspired trends and innovative folk performances to immersive theater and drone shows, the celebrations blended traditional Chinese New Year charm with contemporary creativity.

The city's 16 key scenic spots above the 4A level received a total of 1.68 million visits over the nine-day holiday, a 12 percent increase year-on-year. The Shen's Garden scenic area recorded 328,000 visits, while Anchang Ancient Town received 444,000 visits.

Scenic areas introduced innovative experiences to engage visitors. Lu Xun Native Place launched an interactive program featuring cultural tourism vouchers that visitors could use to participate in festive activities, while the riddle-guessing interactions at Baifu Bridge in Shangyu district proved highly popular among tourists.

"We will continue to improve our product offerings and optimize service quality," said a representative from Shaoxing municipal bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism. "Our goal is to help this thousand-year-old city shine even brighter in the new era."
