Swimming events at the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games concluded with Shaoxing athlete Jiang Yuyan emerging as one of the most impressive performers, winning a total of nine gold medals.

Jiang sealed her ninth title on Dec 14 in the mixed 4x50-meter medley relay final. Swimming the butterfly leg, she maintained a clear lead from entry to finish, helping Zhejiang secure victory and bringing her campaign at the games to a dominant close.

Earlier on Dec 13, Jiang played a decisive role in the mixed 4x100-meter medley relay final. Entering the pool as the anchor swimmer, she faced a race in which the Zhejiang and Yunnan teams were a nearly even match. In the final sprint, she made a remarkable comeback and touched the wall just 0.03 seconds ahead of the competition.

On Dec 11, Jiang delivered another highlight by winning three gold medals within 2 hours. She topped the podium in the women's 50m butterfly S6, the 400-meter freestyle, and a mixed relay event, demonstrating both explosive speed and endurance.

These triumphs are a result of long-term intensive training. Her coach said Jiang's workload rivals that of many able-bodied swimmers. Her achievements also reflect the spirit of the games, where athletes compete at a high level through perseverance, focus, and determination.
