The city championship stage of the Zhejiang City Basketball League (ZheBA) will open with Hangzhou hosting Zhuji at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center on Aug 15.

The match will follow the Aug 5 draw in Hangzhou, which placed 22 teams into two groups of 11 for double round-robin home-and-away play, with the top four from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.

Zhuji enters as the first city champion of this year's ZheBA, having swept all five games in the Shaoxing division to claim the title.

The schedule for the first two rounds of the city championship has been confirmed, running from Aug 15 to 24, during which all 22 teams will make their debut.

Each city team is composed of elite players from local squads, while the city champions have already proven their strength by emerging from intense regional competition.
