With the final buzzer, the electronic scoreboard at the Zhuji Basketball Center read 81-65, and the cheers of nearly 8,000 spectators nearly lifted the roof off the largest basketball arena in Zhejiang province.
On the evening of July 19, the final of the Zhejiang City Basketball League (ZheBA) Shaoxing division took place here. The Zhuji team triumphed over Shangyu, securing a five-game winning streak to claim the Shaoxing division championship.
This victory earned them the honor of representing Shaoxing in the next stage of the city championship tournament, marking the first city champion determined in the ZheBA preliminary rounds.
The match was held at the Zhuji Basketball Center, a venue comparable to NBA-level facilities. The main arena boasts 18,000 seats, making it the largest basketball venue in the province and one of the top 10 in the country.
Despite being in its pressure-testing phase, the stadium opened less than half of its seats for the event, with tickets selling out almost immediately.
