As spring arrives, Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province, is witnessing a surge in flower-themed tourism. Vast rapeseed fields and ancient villages adorned with white pear blossoms are attracting numerous visitors.

This year, Longquan has moved beyond traditional flower viewing by developing unique seasonal attractions that highlight its cultural and ecological strengths.

In Litou village in Tashi subdistrict, idle furniture collected from villagers has been repainted by young volunteers with floral and village patterns, turning it into low-cost photo spots. This initiative not only beautifies the area but also engages the community.

Chepankeng village in Pingnan town is showcasing its ancient pear trees by hosting cultural activities, including hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) dress-up, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and pear product sales.

A new two-day tour package that combines flower viewing with trail running has been introduced to encourage longer stays. During peak season, local homestays are fully booked on weekends, and homemade dried pears sell out quickly.

Huangnan village in Xiaomei town hosted a rapeseed flower festival featuring folk performances, traditional competitions, and a local market. The immersive experience drew photographers and tourists, significantly boosting income for village restaurants and farm product vendors.

Longquan's diverse blossom economy is driving rural tourism and increasing local revenue, demonstrating how natural beauty can be transformed into economic growth and support rural vitalization.
