In Jinyun county of Lishui, Zhejiang province, the traditional Jinyun shaobing, a kind of bucket-baked roll steeped in Huangdi culture, is evolving from a traditional local dish into a modern industry.

Through mechanization, automation, and Internet integration, Jinyun shaobing has moved beyond small workshops to large-scale production.

At Lishui Xinfeng Food's workshop in Dongfang town of Jinyun county, four fully automated lines operate efficiently. After being kneaded, baked ,and packaged, a golden, fragrant shaobing is created.

This industrial approach has led to a daily output of 200,000 shaobing, with sales projected to exceed 20 million yuan ($2.84 million) in 2025.

The industry's common prosperity chain extends upstream. At Zhejiang Caiweiju Agricultural Development, farm women produce Jinyun dried vegetable, the essential filling, by cleaning and pickling mustard.

This has boosted the modernization of local wheat farming, pig rearing, and vegetable processing, benefiting thousands of households.

Now more than a snack, Jinyun shaobing is a signature industry fueling rural vitalization. In 2024, its annual output value hit 3.89 billion yuan, reaching 3.18 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year.

The Jinyun shaobing industry employs 25,000 people and supports over 50,000 jobs. Businesses within the sector have trained 12,000 cooks and operate 8,000 stores across 16 countries and regions. This small shaobing is fostering a vast common prosperity industry.
