In a unique cultural fusion, the quaint village of Songzhuang — in Songyang county, Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province — hosted an international music concert on June 1, blending global artistry with traditional charm.
At the concert, the musical Musical Delights from the Kitchen — an award-winning play at the International Children's Theatre Festival — was performed, offering a cross-cultural musical extravaganza.
The village's rustic theater was transformed into an open kitchen, with children and parents seated like honored guests.
Slovenian artist Peter Kus led the audience on a captivating journey of sound. His performance, which turned kitchenware into instruments, invited interactive participation, delighting both children and adults.

Visitor Zhang Haibo remarked on the novelty of the performance, expressing surprise at finding such an international event in a remote village.
This was the first time that Kus, a celebrated composer and puppeteer, had performed his award-winning show in China.
Songzhuang, a traditional village with over 600 years of history, is emerging as a cultural hub, bridging local and international arts. Through ongoing cultural initiatives, it continues to draw more attention, enhancing its reputation as a vibrant arts destination.
