Zhejiang to extend mass vaccination program to minors aged 12-17
The Zhejiang provincial government on July 20 announced that it will launch COVID-19 vaccination drives for the province's adolescents aged between 12 and 17 in August.
As of July 19, Zhejiang had administered 70.96 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 80.1 percent of the province's adult population.
China has so far approved the emergency use of COVID-19 vaccines made by Sinopharm and Sinovac for young people aged from 3 to 17.
Zhejiang's health authorities plan to perform first-dose vaccination for minors aged between 15 and 17 from Aug 20 to 30 and second-dose vaccination for them from Sept 11 to 19.
The authorities will roll out first-dose vaccination for minors aged between 12 and 14 from Sept 20 to 30 and second-dose vaccination for them from Oct 11 to 19.
