Eighty students and teachers from South Korea, the first from a group of 400, arrived in Haiyan county, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 28 for a series of educational and cultural exchange activities.

The visitors toured the former residence of Kim Koo (1876–1949), where the Korean independence leader stayed during his years in China. The historic site, located within the Nanbei Lake scenic area, is regarded as an important landmark in the history of the Korean independence movement against Japan's colonial rule. The students and teachers learned about Kim Koo's activities in China and the historical cooperation between the Chinese and Korean people during that period.

The delegation also participated in a tree-planting ceremony, where representatives from both sides planted a local orange tree alongside a Hibiscus syriacus, South Korea's national flower, symbolizing friendship and long-term people-to-people ties between the two countries.

In addition to the historical tour, the students visited local schools in Haiyan, where they explored modern educational facilities and joined exchange activities with Chinese students. The program included discussions and presentations on sports, music, photography, and language learning, enabling direct interaction and mutual understanding.
