Two major events of the fifth Zhejiang Provincial Sports Congress recently concluded, featuring a yoga competition at Tiantai Mountain and a triathlon in Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The yoga competition opened on Aug 16 at Tiantai Mountain. Athletes performed advanced poses across tea fields, lotus ponds, and waterfalls, combining strength, balance, and elegance in both solo and group routines. In the evening, nearly 1,000 participants attended the opening ceremony. The event covered multiple age groups with categories for solo, pairs, and teams.

Meanwhile, Yuhuan hosted the triathlon, with nearly 500 competitors taking part in short-distance, ultra-short, and relay categories. The race combined swimming in indoor pools, cycling through urban and coastal routes, and a final sprint on the athletics track. Organizers ensured smooth operations with clear signage, supply stations, and medical teams on standby.

Together, the two events reflected Zhejiang's efforts to expand participation in diverse sports while linking outdoor activities with local tourism.
