Liu Liping, a 1990s-born native of Heilongjiang province who holds a master's degree in pharmaceutics from Peking University, is examining seedlings at a farm in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, as spring takes hold.

Last August, as the head of planting at Zhuhai Green Finger Agricultural Technology's East China base, Liu and her young team relocated from Guangdong province to establish a 100,000-square-meter organic farm in Quzhou's Kecheng district.

Liu initially faced challenges adapting Zhuhai's planting methods to Quzhou's climate, with high temperatures last September leading to crop failures. Yet her resilience prevailed, as she applied her pharmaceutical research skills and implemented a data-driven approach to farming, optimizing planting schedules based on detailed climate and growth data.

The farm now produces over 30 types of vegetables, with monthly output exceeding 5,000 kilograms, supplying 300 customers in East China. Liu aims to integrate digital agriculture platforms to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Her team, including graduates and international returnees, shares a passion for agriculture. Together, they navigate challenges, from drainage issues to infrastructure improvements, with plans to expand and innovate further.

Liu believes that robust, thriving agriculture is a driving force for rural vitalization, as she envisions transforming the village into a hub for young agricultural enthusiasts, fostering growth and innovation. "Agriculture isn't about quick profits; it's about creating lasting impact," Liu said, hopeful for a flourishing future.
