Zhejiang FC U15 to face Premier League academy sides
Zhejiang FC U15 will take part in the 2026 Next Gen Beijing Cup from April 3 to 12, after the Premier League announced on March 19 that the youth tournament will be staged in China for the first time.
Jointly organized by the Premier League and the Beijing Football Association, the competition will be held at the National Olympic Sports Centre in Beijing, which also houses China's National Football Youth Training Centre. The event is part of the Premier League's broader effort to support youth football development in China.
The Premier League will send under-15 sides from Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, while the Chinese lineup will include Beijing Football Association's U15 selection team, Shijiazhuang Gongfu U15, Shanghai Shenhua U15, and Zhejiang FC U15.
Teams will be divided into two groups for round-robin play. The group winners will advance to the Cup Final, while the second-placed teams will meet in the Shield Final. For Zhejiang FC U15, the tournament will offer a direct chance to test itself against Premier League academy opposition in a high-level youth competition.
The Next Gen Cup is positioned as a youth development platform combining competition with cultural exchange and knowledge-sharing. The event has previously been staged in England and India, and this year's edition marks its first appearance in China.
