Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province has set a new milestone in cross-border e-commerce.

After a bonded import parcel cleared inspection at Yiwu Customs on Dec 3, it was dispatched to the consumer, marking the city's 100 millionth cross-border e-commerce import order of the year. It is the first time Yiwu's annual bonded import order volume has surpassed the 100 million mark.

Yiwu launched its bonded import model for cross-border e-commerce in 2019. In its debut year, the business handled about 8.7 million import orders; by 2020, the number exceeded 25 million, and has grown rapidly ever since. The opening of the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone in 2021 further expanded capacity, pushing annual import volumes past 60 million in 2023 and 80 million in 2024.

Imported items — mainly health supplements, cosmetics, infant formula, and toys — now exceed 70,000 product types sourced from 74 countries.

Today, the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center host 121 cross-border e-commerce companies that have built centralized logistics hubs in the area.
