The 27th edition of Pet Fair Asia, held in Shanghai from Aug 20 to 24, showed a strong presence of Zhejiang-based companies, with more than 50 exhibitors from the province participating.
Many booths drew consistent foot traffic, underscoring Zhejiang's growing role in China's pet economy.
Among the highlights was Clamber, a pet mobility brand from Ningbo, which displayed its newest line of pet strollers tailored for the domestic market. Originally focused on overseas sales, the brand entered the Chinese market last year. With its sleek design and emphasis on quality, it has quickly gained popularity in major cities like Shanghai and Beijing.
The 2025 event marked the largest Pet Fair Asia to date, occupying 310,000 square meters — the size of 43 standard football fields. The exhibition featured over 2,600 domestic and international exhibitors, offering products across the entire pet care value chain. These included staple foods, smart feeders, veterinary aesthetic packages, customized clothing, and even live animals.
China's pet market exceeded 300 billion yuan ($41.89 billion) in 2024, up 5.5 percent year-on-year. Young consumers accounted for around 70 percent of the attendees at last year's fair.
