Shaoxing Mumian Hotel, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, opened in June in the core commercial district of Yuecheng, about a 20-minute drive from Shaoxing North Railway Station in East China's Zhejiang province.
The property occupies the former 871 Chip Factory, a landmark of Shaoxing's industrial past. After ceasing operations in 2018, the site underwent a transformation led by renowned designer Ju Bin and his team, who focused on preserving the factory's original character. The industrial truss structure was retained, lending the hotel a distinctive cyberpunk aesthetic.
In the lobby, specimen columns made from fallen leaves and chip materials recall the factory's history. More than 50 works by well-known artists are displayed in public areas, while the second floor features a giant pink egg-shaped installation symbolizing rebirth and renewal.
Within a 15-minute drive from the hotel, visitors can explore cultural landmarks such as Lu Xun Native Place and Shenyuan Garden. The hotel also offers customized travel planning and an exclusive sightseeing boat service, allowing guests to admire historic architecture and savor authentic Shaoxing cuisine.
